The Layering Guide: Coats + Jackets

The Layering Guide coats and jackets: It has officially dropped below 40 degrees and we’re in for a long + numbing winter. According to the news, The Snowpocalypse of 2014 has nothing on the Ice Cold Winter ahead of us. Winter Is Coming, my friends. *cue Game of Thrones theme song*
With that being said – layering will be absolutely imperative this season! I’m talking sweaters over turtlenecks and fleece leggings under jeans. But we definitely want to avoid looking like the Michelin Man. The key is in HOW you layer and this Christina Karin jacket-coat combo is on point. Let’s start with the Covet Leather Moto Jacket. I’m obsessed with the two-tone leather! The black is so chic, but the grey flaps + jersey knit sleeves offer a softer, more casual look.
However, I think my favorite part of this jacket would have to be the convertible sleeves. The zipper features allow the jacket to transition into a vest, while the knit sleeves with half-gloves zip on and off for styling
For layer #2 I threw on a grey Christina Karin floor length over coat. You can’t get more warmth than that! This light stone color totally compliments the grey on the leather jacket. Plus the black tubing is so trendy.
Now, while these studded boots might not be the most sensible for icy weather – how COOL are they?! The automatically step up any outfit. I’ll risk the fall for these boots!
