It’s hard to miss Bohemian House. I drove by while it was under construction and the facade embellished with beautiful tiles immediately caught my eye. When they finally opened, I was excited to visit and see if the interior was just as beautiful. And try the food of course.

Boho invites you to “step out of Chicago and into Bohemia,” and that I did! The exposed brick walls, soft lighting and eclectic décor make you feel right at home, relax and ready to enjoy your meal.

Chef Jimmy Papadopoulos told me that he created an the menu with influences from the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria. I really liked the mix of cultural dishes that I could try. It’s amazing that you can have beef pierogis, Czech roasted duck and doughnuts during a full course dinner at the same restaurant.

The menu consists of small and large plates that are great for sharing. My husband loved the Spätzle – trumpet mushrooms, rainbow chard, smoked beef tongue, grey shallots and aged gouda – such an interesting combination, but all the ingredients compliment each other perfectly. A highlight of the experience for me was the infused fashion cocktail that consists of vanilla-fig bourbon, luxardo cherries and bitters – delicious!
I am already planning another trip to Boho since Chef Jimmy utilizes the best of what’s in season. I can’t wait to see what new additions they will offer us this fall. If you go to Bohemian House be ready for surprises and a guaranteed great dinner!

XOXO
