DEREK LAM COBALT BLUE PATCHWORK SUEDE COAT
Trending this Fall are buoyant color coats with a ’70s flare, like this Derek Lam Cobalt Patchwork Suede Coat. Seen on and off the Fall/Winter 2015 fashion week runway, tastemakers alike were flooding the streets of Manhattan with faux fur, suede, knee-length, and cropped brightly colored coats and jackets. This is where I channeled my inspiration from for this amazing monochromatic outfit. The two piece Alexander Wang zip peel away skirt and top were meant to be worn with this coat. The crewneck, long sleeve pullover with rib detailing keeps me warm and adds a level of comfort to this outfit. I paired it with the trendiest boot of the season: over-the-knees suede boots. The clean and timeless Joie Olivia suede over-the-knee boots in Sapphire completes this look! For the handbag, I kept it chic and classic with a Chanel handbag, which accents the details of the jacket.
Cobalt blue is one of my favorite colors, and I love this monochromatic color scheme with hints of leather textures! Some may be hesitant when wearing the same color throughout your outfit, but when done correctly with different textures it makes the outfit come to life. Plus, cobalt blue pairs well with other prints such as leopard, floral, and stripes.
