Fall Trend: Embellishment

Sequins, glitter, jewels, studs – you name it. This season, one of the runway’s hottest fashion trends has made its way to the streets: embellishment. All sorts of artful embellishments can up the cool factor and add a little glam to just about any piece. Since I have been known to use just about ANY excuse to glam-up my daily looks, naturally I’m obsessing over this trend.
This fabulous embellished Givenchy vest certainly adds some sparkle and sass to my look. I love how the silver jewels line the edges of the whole piece – it makes it a little more edgy than glitzy which is perfect for my style. I chose to air on the sexy side and opted for a bold no shirt underneath to show off some skin. However, if you want something a little more casual, throw this on over a flowy tank top and leather leggings for a perfect happy hour look!
Because I took a bold approach with the vest, I wanted to tone it down with my favorite pair of distressed Zara jeans. The indigo wash pairs nicely with the charcoal gray of the vest and the distressed nature of the jeans add a nice balance to the look. I also liked how the natural raw hem contrasted with the sleek sophistication of my Christian Louboutin pumps. While a number of different shoe styles could have finished this off nicely, I’m a firm believer in that there’s nothing a pair of Louboutins can’t fix.
