Be My Galentine? | Galentine's Day Essentials

If you know me, you know I always love an excuse to throw a party. So pop the bubbly because the most sacred of holidays is almost here: Galentine’s Day! I mean, who needs a Valentine when you have your loyal ladies? Forget February 14th, February 13th is the real priority (sorry hubby!).
This year grab your best gals and plan a Girls Night In. Even if you do have a handsome sweetheart, our BFFs will always hold a special place in our hearts. They are your shoulder(s) to cry on, go-to wine night girls, and soul sisters. In the wise words of Charlotte from Sex & The City:

“Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with”

Charlotte, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Let’s rally up the troops, my friends! Because love is a battlefield and we’re throwing a Galentine’s Day Bash!

Galentine’s Day Party Essentials

Drunk On Love

What’s a Galentine’s celebration/girls night/Monday night without a little buzz? Your G-Day party absolutely must – I repeat, MUST – have a signature cocktail. If you don’t want to get too elaborate, keep it simple with sparkling rose, a splash of cranberry juice, and berries.

Love Bites

Every party needs some snacks! Lose the salads and veggies. Treat yourselves to the world’s two greatest gifts: carbs and chocolate. Start with a fabulous charcuterie and cheese board – a crowd favorite. But don’t go easy on the cheese. Whip out all the stops: mozzarella, goat, baby swiss, triple creme, burrata, gruyere. Basically if it’s cheese, throw it on the board.
Next, the main course. If pizza wasn’t the first thing that came to your mind then I’m not sure if we can be friends. Girls and pizza is like peanut butter and jelly. Whether you throw them in the oven order in you can never go wrong. If you’re feeling extra festive, order a deep dish heart-shaped pizza from Lou Malnati’s. (Pro Tip: you’ll need more than one!) Or if you’re feeling fancy – make your own with THIS recipe!
The night wouldn’t be complete without a little dark chocolate. Set up a cute Ice Cream Sundae Bar complete with pink sprinkles, Oreos, raspberry sauce, hot fudge, whipped cream, and of course a cherry on top!

Pamper Up

We don’t always get the chance to pamper ourselves. Make it a spa night! Throw it back to your high school sleepovers with nail painting, pajama sets, face masks, and Sex & The City marathons. Except this time with a lot more wine. Make fun DIY masks and sugar scrubs in the kitchen or hire someone to come and do your nails. Regardless, it’s your Galentine’s Day and you’ll indulge if you want to.
Not feeling a relaxing night in? Hire a makeup artist to come do everyone’s makeup then hit the town! There’s nothing better than a little GNO.

XO Decor

Nothing says a party like a adorable decorations and a fun photo opp! String up heart shaped lights, get pink and red balloons, sparkly tassel banners, and lots and lots of flowers. Have an old school polaroid camera on deck with back-up film and have sharpies scattered around the party to write cute memories on the film.

Ladies, it doesn’t matter what you do on February 13th as long as you love yourself and your girls! Treat yourself. And just remember – you’re all my Galentines ♡
XO, Janet
