GREEN TIE BALL 2015

CHICAGO GATEWAY GREEN’S ANNUAL GREEN TIE BALL XXIV “STUDIO 54”
As I mentioned in last weeks post, it is black tie season and this weekend is one of my favorite events – Green Tie Ball. This years theme is based on the historic New York night club, “Studio 54” which means the evening will be filled with some of the most intense fashion Chicago has seen all season. The night will be filled with performances by Chicagoland’s hit performer, Matt Roan, and some of the city’s most recognizable socialites including Manny the Celebrity French Bulldog. I love attending the Green Tie Ball because their food is always out of this world. This year’s ball will have over twenty of Chicago’s top restaurants including my favorites like Firecakes and Sunda. Of course, all proceeds go towards the Chicago’s Gateway Green, which helps keep our Chicago expressways clean and beautiful!
Today I had the pleasure of speaking alongside Susanna Negovan, Publisher and General Manager of Sun-Times SPLASH, on Fox32 discussing different outfits and ways to wear green to the Green Tie Ball. The dress code does not require you to wear green, but I wanted to share additional ways for you to incorporate green into your black-tie ensemble. Now is the perfect time for you to wear that long formal gown you have been waiting to break out. Or opt for a lace shift dress while eloquently adding emerald and diamond accents.

Here are some amazing accessories, which can dress up any little black dress. Incorporate stunning emerald earrings with a stand-out clutch to really take your outfit the the next level. These Jimmy Choo Lilith black velvet heels with tulle bow will truly make take this outfit for “Studio 54” status. Also, these amazing David Webb inlay earrings with diamonds and emerald pave the way when it comes to jewelry. They are inspiring!

Nothing screams “Studio 54” quite like a sequin dress and an oversized fur. Like I said, not everything has to be green, but adding in different hints of emerald hues will really make your outfit come to life. One of my favorite designers is Balmain, and this embellished velvet mini dress from their Fall ’15 runway sums up where my inspiration for the evening will come from. The ’70s have never been hotter – and this flatter wrap effect front with shimmering gold crystal steps will be a show stopper. The Christian Louboutin Vampydoly suede pumps in navy elegantly extend the legs. The fur is vintage and I highly suggest checking out shops like Luxury Garage Sale and Frock Design Dress Rental for signature pieces such as this one. Green Tie Ball
I love Gigi Hadid’s style in this image, and will be channeling my inner Farrah Fawcett all weekend long. Here are some more glam accessories, which you can add to any black dress, green dress, or full sequin dress. I love the Dolce & Gabbanna emerald green box, Snakeskin handbag! Add a feminine touch with silver or gold embellished pumps, or something more contemporary with sexy strapped heels.

Tickets are still available online here, and for more information on the event visit Gatewaygreen.org. I hope to see you rocking your green this Saturday!
