GOING GREEN, STUDIO 54 STYLE

CHICAGO GATEWAY GREEN, GREEN TIE BALL 2015 “STUDIO 54” STYLE:
This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the annual Green Tie Ball, which was “Studio 54” inspired. The event was filled with about 1,700 guests who were dressed to the nines in their best late ’70s black tie ensembles. From the moment you walked in, the energy (and Manny The Frenchie) greeted you at the door. You could bid on a getaway, you could play your hand in your favorite casino games (thanks to Rivers Casino) or you could make your way to the back tent that housed over 30 of Chicago’s hottest restaurants. Within minutes I tried everything from delicious Eli’s CheesecakeMercadito‘s camaron tacos, and Harry Caray‘s crab cakes. Safe to say I was STUFFED before I headed to the dance floor!

As I mentioned, guests pulled out all the stops for this evening supporting and benefiting the Chicago expressways. Amongst the fur, the gold and the sequin it was hard for me to pick out just one for a best dressed. The ladies and the gentlemen looked absolutely stunning!

For my outfit the evening, I wore a mixture of patterns, textures, and colors. I started with this amazing embellished Alice+Olivia beaded long-sleeve jackets with pops of pearl, embroidered army green and eggplant purple flowers, and gold sequin. Once I had that as a base, I found this beautiful Allison Parris olive green layered mesh tutu! For the accessories, I wore my favorite Alexander McQueen  gold clutch, a Saint Laurent Opium tassel necklace and the show stopping Sophia Webster shoes. These Evangeline embellished winged heels are everything! Chic, comfortable, and added that extra color I was looking for.

It was a night and an outfit to remember! Going green for a good cause. I cannot wait for another exciting night next year.
