Summer Blues

SUMMER BLUES – Summer is almost over and the early excitement of warm weather + sunshine has faded away. Now it’s time to start thinking ahead to fall: the kid’s school year, fashion week and busy days to come. I always have to take a second at this time of the year to appreciate the slow, lazy days of summer before the craziness starts.
With the weather bouncing between 90 degrees and humid to 70 and rainy, dressing for this summer has been the usual level of Midwest difficulty. To that, denim has become an even closer friend of mine. This distressed pair from Zara has been my go-to pair; they are the perfect mix of casual, edgy and comfortable. Not only do they go with easy tees, they also work just as well with structured blouses. I simply adore them!
I kept the blue tones going with this amazing off the shoulder top from Storets. The cold shoulder trend is huge lately so of course I have been embracing it! I love the laid-back feel of the fit juxtaposed with the structured-ness of the collar.
The blue and white tones of the ensemble made this look feel like summer, breezy, clean and light. The whole look called for a gold accent, so I belted the flowing top with this vintage chain and bow belt. The addition of my Lana Jewelry hoop earrings + Lana Jewelry anklet, the cream and gold accented bag and my favorite pair of gold Louboutins, brought a touch of glam to this warm weather wear.
As this summer comes to a close, I’ll be feeling awfully blue in my summer blues!

Love this look! I seriously said to myself “could she look any better?” I die for distressed jeans, and I love the way you have dressed them up here. Good luck with those summer blues.
