#FlowerPower Woodstock Meets NYFW – New York Fashion Week really had me feeling some type of psychedelic way! This year’s Spring/Summer 17 was all about the Seventies-inspired throwbacks and I felt right on point.

Baby Got Flares

Retro-glam silhouettes took the stage, while I took to the streets with my fabulous Alice + Olivia flare jeans! Intricate floral patchwork and embroidery trimmed the denim pants from the top of my pockets all the way down to the hem. A little bedazzle touch was added to the pants with small jewels in the center of the flowers. Paired with gold wedges, the red, green, blue, yellow, and orange stitching created whimsical flower-power look straight out of Woodstock.
Since my jeans were decked out to the max, I opted for a sophisticated, yet flirty Giambattista Valli blouse on top. The peplum silhouette was feminine and flattering to my figure, and the stark white added a nice neutral balance to the colorful stitching on my jeans. Going along with my flashback look, I added a vintage Chanel chain necklace for a little edge. The pendents handing from the silver links are reminiscent of an edgier Chanel.
But while the jeans are the focal point of this outfit, I have to admit this black Gucci handbag is the bomb.  Sleek black leather and large yellow G’s seem to be painted on the front. On the opposite side “REAL” is plastered across black leather in a graffiti fashion.
Topped off with some seriously psychedelic sunnies, this NYFW look was groovy!

LOVELY IN LACE + JACQUARD – This fall finds designers obsessing over large prints, textures, rich colors, and of course, lace – the epitome of femininity. While the romanticized fabric has definitely taken on different forms in the fashion realm – from sophisticated sheers to sexy boudoirs – lace once again finds itself at the forefront of fashion trends.
Since designers seem to be emphasizing textures, I think this Anna Sui Lace + Jacquard cotton-blend dress is just perfect for this upcoming season. The combination of the elegant lace and the large floral printed jacquard combines to create a flirty, yet poised look. I love the lace on this dress because of the unique Aztec feel of the bodice and the ruffle detail lining the collar – perfect for fall!
Another fall trend I’m thrilled about: loafers! While loafers remind some people of childhood school days, I can promise you that the shoe has made strides in appearance. These gold Gucci loafers are my go-to for luncheons and daytime outings. Not only do they bring out the gold color in the jacquard print, but they also give the perfect touch of glimmer to this look!
As I’m slowly beginning to transition all of my outfits to fall, I decided to pair this Anna Sui dress with my Chloe brown leather + suede shoulder bag. Suede, to me, just screams autumn and the rich caramel color of the leather coordinates with the season.

Life is too short to wear boring heels.
HEAD OVER HEELS – If I learned anything from Carrie Bradshaw, it’s 2 things: 1. Shoes are a girl’s best friend and 2. Bright colors + bold patterns make for the perfect statement heel. While sneakers may be having their moment right now, heels will never fail to make my heart go pitter patter. Whether it’s mules or sandals, every fashionaholic should own at least one pair of striking stilettos.
It’s a known fact that shoes can make or break an outfit. Heels are an accessory that can single-handedly elevate a look from average to fabulous. Of course high heels aren’t realistic as a day to day shoe for running errands, but if you are trying to step up your outfit, heels are the perfect solution. And trust me, I’m all about comfort – which is why I absolutely adore these Gucci multi-colored leather sandals. As gold pointed studs trail up the spine of the heel, smaller silver studs adorn different areas of the heel offering a sassy contrast. The red, blue, and green color blocking smoothes out the edge and brings a playful feel to this shoe.
I decided to pair these killer heels with an otherwise casual street style look. And since shorts season is coming to a bittersweet end, I wanted to spend a little extra time with my distressed Forever21 jean shorts. These jean shorts are not only super affordable, but also uber adorable. On top I wore a black asymmetrical one-shoulder crop top. The ruffle detail on the shoulder sleeve is classy, while the drape-like sheath on the other side is sexy – the perfect summer combo.
To add a little more color to my outfit, I opted for this adorable Gucci shoulder bag. Vibrant flowers and a sweet butterfly are embroidered onto the front like patchwork. The bag’s color palette really complimented the shoes and essentially brought this whole look to life. And of course, no outfit is complete without a pair of my favorite sunnies! These oversized Max Mara shades are my current go-to. Matte satin acetate sunglasses featuring a subtle cat-eye silhouette – they are simply fabulous.

I am super excited about collaborating with Korean designer Son Jung Wan! Her designs are perfect for a woman who wants to look both feminine and chic. I styled three looks from her AW16 collection and the quality of materials, paired with the fit, were amazing.  Son Jung Wan is one of South Korea’s most successful designers, and has her designs sold in high end boutiques in both the United States and South Korea. It is very impressive how she manages to mix so many textures and patterns in to one piece. They all flow together so effortlessly! Son Jung Wan’s AW16 collection is mix of soft and beautiful, muted tones. She also designs menswear, and the collection remains visually cohesive, using similar silhouettes and cuts.
For the first look, I styled this amazing blouse with classic denim jeans and a soft suede clutch. The sleeves are made of luxurious and super soft fur that create a level of elegance. It is designed with an asymmetrical hem, making it look feminine and delicate. The chunky knit with the use of three different furs kept me warm but still able to look chic. This piece is easy to style for everyday wear, but could easily transition to a more formal look. I paired it with magenta stilettos, choosing these colors makes the rest of the outfit pop because it brings out the bright colors and texture in the fur sleeves.
The second look I styled was more edgy!  I work leather pants and shiny gold stilettos. It has a major “city girl” feel to it while still remaining feminine and elegant. The silhouette of this blouse is similar to the first one that flows and drapes across the body in a beautiful way. This blouse is very forgiving and flattering on any body type. The colors and furs in this top were more neutral, making it easy to style it with endless options. I thought it looked really chic with this wide brimmed fedora, which paired together perfectly. Since this piece is full of textures and different patterns, I balanced it out with a pair of skinny leather pants to note take away from the main piece.
The third and final look is my very favorite piece of the collection! This coat is the definition of flirty, fun and feminine. It is mainly fur, soft blue knit on the upper half, and then the two elements are connected by a pink glitter stripe in the middle. I loved the color palette in the collection, so I chose over the knee boots that had the same pastel pink color I saw in the rest of the pieces. This also brought the whole look together and called attention to the small amount of pink in the coat. To add even a little more pink, I chose a soft pink Gucci handbag to add texture. The design in this coat was similar to the other two blouses, with a flowy bottom hem and oversized sleeves.
The whole collection is beautiful and offers pieces that you must have in your closet! I would love to style every piece Son Jung Wan offers in her collections. It really plays on the edge of women wanting to be sexy and feminine while remaining chic and on-the-go. If you have not checked out the entire line, I would definitely recommend it. She mixes textures and fabrics in unexpected ways.  Each piece is designed with so much care, and passion.

Most of you who know my style will agree…..I have no fear with playing with different textures, prints and colors. Confidence is being able to take risks in whatever you do in life…..fashion and style is one of them. Success is taking one step forward or maybe few steps for some 🙂

Here is an outfit in ALL black with a few bold accessories to give it that edge.  I love this look and probably one of my favorites! Can’t wait until the weather gets warmer to style few colorful spring looks.
