Tanta restaurant

I love trying different cuisines from around the world. Last week I discovered a very nice restaurant called “Tanta“. I had never had peruvian food before so I didn’t know what to expect but I for sure know what delicious tastes like! My server was very patient and helpful, led me through the menu and recommended few great appetizers – cebiche mixto that was served with amazing plantain chips, criollo niguiris nikei which is like scallop and sesame beef sashimi and pulpo anticuchos – octopus skewers. But the best part was the pork fried rice – chaufa aeropuerto. Omg, the best I’ve ever had and big enough to share. If you are like me and don’t eat pork you can ask and substitute it for chicken. As for cocktails I ordered their pisco sour and it was very good. Pisco is a grape brandy from South America – delish! It’s always hard to decide what dessert to choose so I asked my server to surprise me. She brought me this tasty lime-mint sorbet with lime mousse and quinoa crunch called pie de limon.

I loved the atmosphere and the decor – the large pop-art paintings on the walls make the place look hip and modern. The restaurant is always busy but you can still get plenty of  privacy with your party – the tables and booths are located on a good distance from each other.

If you want to try something new and exciting definitely go to Tanta – everything is just so unusual and delicious, you won’t regret. I am taking my husband here for our next date. What a great experience!
